On the other hand, the counterfeit pesticide industry in India has been growing at an annual rate of 20 percent and now constitutes approximately 30 percent of the total crop protection market. Using authentication technologies on pesticide products can significantly help the farmers and authorities, not only in identifying the fake products but also in identifying the counterfeiters involved in the fake pesticide business.
